The sunrise at mesa arch was the highlight of my experience in arches and Canyonlands national parks. Located in the island in the sky district of Canyonlands national park, outside Moab, Utah, the mesa arch is just a short half-mile hike from the road. After an hour drive, I arrived at the arch an hour and fifteen minutes before sunrise at 5:45 AM, and for about five minutes, had the arch entirely to myself in the darkness, lit by the stars. What a remarkable experience!
